🕊️Quit Fighting Battles Jesus Already Won

Let’s settle something right out of the gate.

Not every inconvenience is spiritual warfare.

You forgot where you put your keys?

Probably not Satan.

Your Wi-Fi went down five minutes before your Zoom meeting?

Annoying? Absolutely.

A demonic attack?

Probably Comcast.

Now…

Does spiritual warfare exist?

Absolutely.

The Bible couldn’t be clearer.

But I think we’ve wandered into two dangerous ditches.

One side blames the devil for literally everything.

The other pretends he doesn’t exist at all.

Neither one is biblical.

You’re in a Battle…

Whether you acknowledge it or not.

The enemy loves fear.

Confusion.

Temptation.

Discouragement.

Shame.

Distraction.

If he can’t destroy your faith, he’ll happily settle for distracting it.

He’d love nothing more than for you to spend your entire life worrying instead of walking confidently with Jesus.

That’s why Luke 10:19-20 is such a powerful reminder. Jesus tells His followers that He has given them authority over the enemy—not because they’re impressive, but because their authority comes from Him. More importantly, He reminds them not to celebrate power itself but to rejoice that their names are written in heaven.

Did you catch that?

Authority…

But also humility.

Confidence…

Without arrogance.

Power…

Without pride.

Stop Giving the Enemy Free Rent

Can I lovingly call something out?

Sometimes we spend more time talking about what Satan is doing…

…than what Jesus has already done.

Friend…

The cross wasn’t almost enough.

The resurrection wasn’t a close call.

Jesus didn’t barely squeak out a victory.

He won.

Completely.

Decisively.

Forever.

The enemy is real.

But he’s defeated.

Those are two very different things.

Your Greatest Victory Isn’t Winning the Battle

Here’s the part of Luke 10 that most people skip over.

Jesus says,

“Don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you…”

Wait…

What?

Isn’t that kind of a big deal?

Apparently not.

Jesus immediately redirects their attention.

“Rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

In other words…

Don’t build your identity around your victories.

Build it around your Savior.

Because some days you’ll feel victorious.

Other days you’ll feel like you’re hanging on by a thread.

Guess what?

Your salvation didn’t change.

Your identity didn’t change.

Your inheritance didn’t change.

Your name is still written in heaven.

That’s the kind of security no bad day can steal.

You Don’t Fight FOR Victory

This one changed the way I look at spiritual battles.

As believers…

We don’t fight for victory.

We fight from victory.

That’s a huge difference.

Imagine walking into a championship game already knowing the final score.

Would you still have to play?

Sure.

Would the game still be difficult?

Absolutely.

But fear changes when you already know who wins.

Romans 8 tells us we’re more than conquerors through Christ.

Not because we’re stronger than everyone else.

Because we’re connected to the One who already conquered sin, death, and the grave.

Stop Acting Like You’re Defeated

Can I say this with love?

Some Christians have better security systems than they do confidence in Jesus.

We’re terrified.

Always waiting for something bad to happen.

Always assuming we’re one bad day away from disaster.

Meanwhile…

The Holy Spirit—the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead—lives inside of us.

That’s not a motivational quote.

That’s biblical reality.

Walk like someone who believes it.

Not cocky.

Not careless.

Just confident in Christ.

The Battle Isn’t Yours Anyway

At the end of the day…

You were never asked to save yourself.

You weren’t asked to defeat Satan.

You weren’t asked to earn God’s favor.

Jesus handled all of that.

Your job?

Stand firm.

Trust Him.

Walk in obedience.

Remember who you belong to.

And when fear whispers…

Speak louder with God’s truth.

Because confidence isn’t pretending battles don’t exist.

It’s knowing Who fights beside you.
