Confidence to Face the Unknown (When You’re Not Sure What’s Next but Know Who’s in Charge)

Let’s be honest—life is full of curveballs. One minute you’re sipping your coffee in peace, and the next, you’re staring down a situation that makes you want to crawl back under the covers with snacks and a “do not disturb” sign for your soul.

We’ve all been there.

And when things get foggy and the path ahead looks about as clear as your windshield on a pollen-packed morning, it’s easy to freeze. Doubt creeps in. Fear whispers lies. Uncertainty throws a party.

But there’s this wild, beautiful thing called faith.

Hebrews 11:1 tells us: “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Did you catch that? Confidence—not in the plan, not in the details, but in the God who holds it all together.

Faith isn’t about pretending you’re not scared. It’s about saying, “Okay God… I don’t see the full map, but I trust You with the next step.”

Need a little inspiration? Let’s talk Joseph.

Homeboy was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and thrown into prison—and he still clung to God’s promises. In Genesis 50:20, he hits us with this mic drop moment: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” Boom. That’s confidence born in the fire.

And then there’s Moses—the guy with a speech issue who ended up confronting Pharaoh and parting the Red Sea. (I mean, casual.) In Hebrews 11:24-26, we see that Moses chose obedience over comfort, even when the road was scary. He didn’t have a 10-step plan—he had a promise. And that was enough.

So what about you, friend?

What’s that thing you’re facing that feels too big, too confusing, or too unknown? Maybe it’s a decision you’ve been putting off. A diagnosis you didn’t expect. A dream that feels risky. A door you’re not sure whether to knock on or run away from.

Whatever it is—God is already there.
Already working.
Already making a way.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

(Side note: mustard seeds are tiny. So don’t come at me with “my faith isn’t big enough.” That excuse is officially invalid.)

Faith isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about knowing Who does—and walking with boldness because He’s the one lighting the path.

So take that step.
Say the prayer.
Make the move.

Trust the One who sees the whole picture when you can only see the next square on the chessboard.

You’ve got this—not because of you, but because of Him.
