Stand still and wait because God is in control

We all live crazy lives, we all want more and yet we all have those days where we just want to throw in the towel and give up.  We have dreams, we have ambition, we want to do more for other, ours kids and ourselves and yet we can’t ever seem to reach that point where we reach that place we call contentment.

When life gets too much many people give up. When that something seems too big they settle for something less. But God does not want that.  I repeat, God does not want that.  He has promised us so much and it can be ours by faith, look at Mak 11:22-24 (NIV) 22And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. 23″Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 24″Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.…”

In the scripture Jesus tells us we can have anything or do anything but further study teaches that things are not always instant. Ecclesiastes 8:6 reads “For there is a time and a way for everything, although man’s trouble lies heavy on him.”  Many people will say “all in Gods time” and therein lies the problem. We live in a world where instant gratification is the norm and with everything we don’t want to wait and we don’t like waiting.

If we want what we want we need to slow down and this again is something many of us battle with. Philippians 4:6 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Can you see where this is going?

Anything is possible if we believe and trust in God and we have to wait a little.  But, and it is a big but we need to ask God and be thankful for what we are asking as if we have already received it.  The only way to do this is to stop.

So right now, if you are struggling with something, not sure where to turn or just need some clarification, stop. Just stop.

Stop, pause and in the quiet of your heart ask God to help you.  No matter how crazy things are or how hectic the task may be or seem right now you need to know that God is in absolute control.  Take 5 minutes and hand things over to him. Matthew 11:30 says “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Therefore hand whatever it is to God.

It’s that stopping and handing over that holds so many of us back, we try and do it all ourselves and we forget in the busyness of it all that we have a Father who can do it for us and do it better and faster if we choose to let go.

Hand your life, your challenges and your struggles over to God. Take 15 minutes each day for Him, tell Him your problems, ask Him to help and above all have the faith that He will answer. Remember this  from Matthew 7:7-11 “7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

If you hand your troubles over to Him buy just standing still, the weight will be lifted and the challenges overcome.
